Success

Commit your actions to the Lord , and your plans will succeed.

Proverbs 16:3 NLT

Success;

the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.

That’s the definition of success through Google. Saying that you have accomplished what you have set out to do. There are a few more definitions, however, it does not say anything that it’s measured by money, houses, cars, people around you. Success is accomplishing what you set out to do. What you have planned to do becomes a reality. We have goals and things we want to get going before the year is out, but how many of us have committed that to God?

HERE IT IS…

The definition of success says that you accomplish what you set out to do. The scripture says that if you commit your actions to God your plans will succeed. How does that go together you ask? Well think of it this way, if you ask God what he wants you to do, or know what God wants you to do, and ots for his glory, then you have succeeded 2 times. You have set a God given goal, and it was accomplished for his glory. Great thing is that once you set out to give God the glory in all you do, all the other things that we think makes us successful will be given. Let’s be successful together.

Never to late

Kind words are like honey— sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.

Proverbs 16:24 NLT

There was a scientific study done that proved just how powerful words were. The scientist took 2 plants that were the same. Gave them the same soil, same water, same sunlight, same air, and raised them both. To one he spoke positive to and encouraged it to grow, read scripture to it. The other he detested, he was always negative to it, didn’t speak to it sometimes. Both fed, watered, and received sun the same, but what was being spoke to them were opposites.

HERE IT IS…

Fun fact: natural honey does not spoil, or go bad, it may crystallize but the way to get it back to its natural form is to; take the cap off and place it in a pan of water and warm it on low heat. Sometimes just like this plant and honey we can be either idol for so long from God, or have gone through something’s and we feel like we can’t be used. Our leaves turn brown and we don’t grow as tall as others, we feel damaged. Thabk God for Jesus who is a healer and a mind regulator. Where he is just like the scientist who instead of speaking negative to the plant started speaking positive to it and it started to blossom just like the other one he spoke positive too. Or maybe you need God to take some stuff off you open you up and just allow his son the living water flow around you to get you back where you should be. God can turn it around for you it’s not to late.

New

As Saul turned and started to leave, God gave him a new heart, and all Samuel’s signs were fulfilled that day.

1 Samuel 10:9 NLT

When I come into the presence of some people I know that I will receive something that will make me better mentally, spiritually, or physically. I know that because of they’re gifts that God has given them I will leave feeling different. All the things that may have bothered me are gone. If I was tired, i may be able to get encouraged and rejuvenated. I may even feel like my spirit is low, but I will leave feeling better than I did going in and refocused.

HERE IT IS…

When we appear in the presence of God we should leave with a new heart. We should be able to feel different. We should not leave his presence feeling the same way or worse. When God is involved he will change something about you. He will make sure that whatever it was that was hurting you is gone. The bible says that whoever comes to him will be made new. When you leave God you should have a new thought process. A new love, a new sight, a new walk, and talk. When you leave God’s presence you should feel new.

After the amen

Ten days later the Lord gave his reply to Jeremiah.

Jeremiah 42:7 NLT

I was talking to one of best friends last week and I told him to remind him to tell him something I wanted to talk to him about. Even in between the time that past we talked and he reminded me to tell him, but I was not in a place where I could yell him. Even though I didn’t tell him he waited until I told him. A week later we were finally able to talk about it. As we talked about it, I figured out that all the other times we could have talked about it, and he would ask me about it, it wasn’t the right time. When we finally did talk it was at the right where I was able to listen and understand what we talked about.

HERE IT IS…

When we pray, we often expect God to give us and immediate reaction and answer. Sometimes we try to put God on a timer as to when we think he should have answered. When I see this scripture I realize the things that transpired that was not said in this scripture. 1. He continued to listen, 2. Patiently waited, 3. He was able to receive it. Sometimes when we pray we want God to answer but as soon as we say amen we fail to continue to listen for the answer. We get so caught up in our day to day that we become impatient and start searching foe the answer and possibly make things worse. When we go looking for the answer, at times, we place ourselves in positions where we are not able to understand, receive or accept the answer that God has sent us. Don’t stop listening when you say amen, keep listening he will answer when it’s time.

Solid building

“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.

Matthew 7:24 NLT

We have new houses being built in the back of our house. It’s been a process from surveyors, to creating a path, to clearing the trees and stumps, to paving. Alot has been done to get the land ready to build these houses. What I was so interested in was the actual building of the houses. I have a personal opinion about how homes are built now, compared to how they used to be built. It’s a theory that I have noticed, and also experienced in my time of living in different places. As I watched and observed the work they did, I would often just shake my head in amazement and wonder.

HERE IT IS…

I look at the houses and tell it can sum up the way our society is today. The scripture tells us, if we listen to God’s word that we are; wise, and like a person who builds a house on solid ROCK. The houses being built now are going up so fast that the paint doesn’t have time to dry. Not only that, the foundations are solid in inspectors views. But, have you ever looked at the foundations now. Within 5 years the houses will be leaning and cracking. We have to make sure we are not throwing up allowing other things to not listen fully to God’s word that we don’t have a solid foundation in life.

Your made this way

This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9 NLT

I love to workout and lift weights. What I have learned to love more is doing it with my children. In this activity I notice alot about who they are, they’re strength and weaknesses, they’re character. What I love to do is encourage them to be able to so something that they thought they couldn’t do. Showing them that they have the power inside of them to push pass they’re limits. Telling them they are stronger than they think, better than what they think. More valuable than what they think.

HERE IT IS…

Look at what God says to us, yesterday we saw that he didn’t GIVE US fear. Here he says that he commands us to be strong and courages, and not to be afraid. He didn’t ask. He didn’t say you should be. It is a command. It’s non negotiable. Not a choice in the matter. You and I are created to be fearless, strong and courages because of who our God is. It’s not in our being to be afraid, but it’s in our mentality that creates it. Live in your being not your thinking.

Scared of what?

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

2 Timothy 1:7 NLT

Why should I be scared? What should I be afraid of? Often times we become fearful and scared of something because of all the “what if’s”. We often become scared because we play all the different scenarios over in our head trying to make more out of it than it is. When we don’t allow God to have the ability to show is what he will actually do. I know, sometimes it feels like God hasn’t responded, it feels as if he is to busy because he hasn’t reacted or swooped in immediately when it happen. What if I told you God is waiting on you?

HERE IT IS…

Scripture says that God breathed his own breath into us when he created us. God did, the almighty, all powerful, omnipotent God that creates heaven and earth. Used his own being to bring us into existence. What does he have to fear if he is the alpha and omega? So what should you fear of he created you. But Rev. Adam and eve at the Apple and that’s when we got this fear. True statement, however where did God’s breath that he gave us go? No where, it’s still in us. We just continue to build upon what we did wrong instead of remembering that we are made by him, from him.
I ain’t never scared…because he is in me.

I believe God

For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock.

Psalms 27:5 NLT

This morning was by far one of the most emotional days of my life. As I learned that there was a threat on my kids school. Hearing the fear in my daughter’s voice when she called, the million different scenarios that went through my mind for the safety my children and others i consider my children. As I spoke to my wife she immediately says to me, “we believe God.”. I was quickly reminded that no matter what God has this under control.

HERE IT IS…

As humans fear will arise, but psalms helps to remind us that even though things come, things happen, and things arise, no matter what who do you believe? God will protect his own and as the scripture says, we will be out of reach. As a father the one thing I wanted to do was go and get my kids tactically lol, Fatigues and all, but I know the shelter I can provide does not compare to the shelter God provides. No matter what comes my way I know that we are covered.

Reach for his hand

I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.

Philippians 3:12‭-‬14 MSG

Who can say that they have made it, or arrived? Who can say that they have reached their full potential and ha e done that they have set out to do? Not me, I can tell you that I ha e a ways to go. I have more to do and more to accomplish and more to fulfill in my purpose here on earth. So what keeps you going? What makes you push beyond the failures, the no’s? What makes you say that this can not be the end I know there is more?
HERE IT IS…
We all ha e goals and we all have a place or position or even financial status that we would lo e to have, push for or even desire. Is that where God is? Is that where you will see that you have completed your task? I urge you to keep those goals and push for them. Instead of making that the finished product make Jesus the end all, be all of that goal. How can Jesus be glorified and shown I this? Reach for him and everything else he will do.

Creation

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:1 NLT

Growing up in the city I some how became a nature person. A person who loves to be outdoors, and be in the woods, to fish and hunt. Growing up I the city with a father who grew up in the country that didn’t like to do those things is crazy right? I loved it, I loved the air, the landscape, seeing new things, watching animals in there habitat. What I loved most was looking at how things are constructed by nature. How the earth moves, and th rivers flow, the mountains are shaped. It’s amazing to me how something so big and places and crevices that haven’t been discovered have been made and hidden for so long.

HERE IT IS…

Look around you. Take a good hard look and remove all the highways and man made things and look around. So here is my question. Of God got up out of his throne and created the earth with such great detail, what makes you think your not worth it? What makes you feel that you can’t conquor anything that comes your way? If his hand and voice is all over this world, why wouldn’t his hand be all over your life? You can do anything you place before God. The same person that created the earth can create a way for you to be all that you believe you can be. Take him at his word, because his word created everything.
