”He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.“
Isaiah 40:29 NLT
Read the scripture again. He says that he gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Okay, maybe I’m the only one that’s confused. Why wouldn’t he say strength to the weak and power to the powerless? Doesn’t it seem odd that he would mix the two? How could the powerless get strength and the weak receive power. If I may suggest that a lot of times we look for God to do things in our order and forget that he is God and knows what we need?
HERE IT IS…
Power by definition means to have the ability to act a certain way. Weak by definition is the lack of power to perform physically. What he is saying is that he will give you the power to do things that you couldn’t do on your own. Strength is the state of being physically strong and powerless is without ability. What he is saying is you don’t have the physical strength to do it so he will put you in the state or capacity to do it. Your power isn’t enough and your strength isn’t enough but God will give you everything you need to do what he has called you to do.
