Fear who?

“Don’t be afraid,” Moses answered them, “for God has come in this way to test you, and so that your fear of him will keep you from sinning!”

Exodus 20:20 NLT

Research shows and Rick Warren has exclaimed that the bible has 365 verses related to the phrase “fear not”. 365 times we have the ability to to know that we have nothing to fear. 365 times the bible reveals that fear is only to and for God. 365 times we have been shown that we should only fear God. In a article published by, The conversation, it credits fear to be an emotion. It starts in the brain and then is filtered through the body. Our body’s then react accordingly with the fight or flight. Our bodies become defensive and starts to find ways of escape. It is natural to fear and be afraid.what happens when we take on those 365 verses and live as such? What happens when we recognize that God has us covered? What happens when we turn to God in prayer before we get afraid?

HERE IT IS…

So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”

Romans 8:15 NLT

What happens when we recognize that fear is an emotion that can be controlled. Fear entered into our minds which means we have learned it. We have internalized it and we have created a space for it to be apart of us. Just as Roman’s 8:15 tells us, we have not received the spirit of fear, but in fact we have allowed it in.

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Isaiah 41:10 NLT

I have nothing to fear because it’s not apart of me. It’s not who we were created to be. Fear God for he is the only one who can judge you.

Spoken action

Is it easier to say to the paralyzed man ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or ‘Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk’? So I will prove to you that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins.” Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!”

Mark 2:9‭-‬11 NLT

I love it when people doubt me, or tell me that I cannot or will not, do something. I like proving people wrong in that regard. All because you say I cant do anything or that what I’m doing wont work, it becomes almost a mission to make sure that it does. To make sure that I not only prove it to whomever said it, but that I prove it to myself. I want to make sure that it succeeds and that whatever it is that has to be done, gets done. When people doubt you it makes you want to be able to stand in front of them with it completed. They say it’s easier said than done. They say that actions speak louder than words. They say, I can show you better than I can tell you.

HERE IT IS…

How often do you pray and ask God to tell you what his plans are? How often do you ask God for something and expect him to talk to you right then to tell you what he was going to do? Dont get me wrong he will answer you. He will give you a glimpse into your future. He will tell you just how things will be done. I just believe that sometime God takes on a attitude of, I can show you better than o can tell you. I believe that god will tell us watch what I do. Watch me work, mind set. Sometimes we can be like these people here who doubted Jesus and think that we have the right to tell God that we dont think it can be done. I love that in the text Jesus’ words are what make the man whole. So it’s not even a fact of I can tell you better than I can show you. It’s more of I will show as I tell you. I just believe that God is going to do some things in our life that he wont have to do anything physically to, but that he will just speak to your situation and things will start to move…

Traditions?

Then Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath.

Mark 2:27 NLT

Traditions are something that has sustained us through the years. Traditions are something that each family has and completes every year all because of its tradition. We dont want to break the traditions because it’s almost like we are going to break the law. As if we were not going to live past the day if it doesn’t happen. Some times we can place traditions above the needs of the people of the family. We can get so caught up in traditions and having what is normalcy to us that we lose track of what actually helps us understand why the traditions were created in the first place. Traditions are that because of the constant execution of it. However they were started for a reason.

HERE IT IS…

In the text on the disciples were collecting food!!! That’s it! Not for the food bank, not for the homeless shelter, not for anyone else, but to eat. The text shows us just how far traditions can go when they are not used or the translation as to why they were done are lost. However l, it also shows us that traditions do and must change. Jesus says in reference to the sabbath; “The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath.”. Often times we can lose the vision of the tradition to propel the people, and it becomes a show for the people. Traditions look good from the outside, but we must always make sure the traditions do not alienate the needs of the people.

Stand

Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.

1 Peter 5:9 NLT

I remember my Daddy telling myself and my sisters and brothers ” you dont stand there and let nobody hit you, protect yourself at all times.”. I remember my mom in the same fashion telling him, “they dont always have to fight, they can walk away.”. Honestly that can confuse a kid. For me, it helped me to realize that sometimes all you have to do is stand there. Sometimes just knowing how to fight is all you need to know. There has been people who have come to me and said, “you look like you know how to fight.”. I did and do, however I also knew when to and not to use it. From the different forms I have been taught it was one thing that was taught stand your ground…

HERE IT IS…

Sometimes all you have to do is look like you know how to fight and people wont mess with you. Sometimes they just want to see if you will square up with them. So it is spiritually. I know how to fight the enemy. I know what will make him flee. I know where my power lies, I have been taught how to fight, and I have had warfare with the enemy myself. What I have noticed is that sometimes when he peeks his ugly head and trys to catch me off guard, all I have to do is stand my ground. I dont have to speak, I dont have to yell, I do t have to put my hands up. Not because of MY ability but what has taught to me by my father in heaven.

Soil

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.

John 15:4 NLT

I have a coworker who is in to farming and growing his own foods. He even wants to get his own chickens, and have a mini farm. As we work together we talk about it and it actually got me I tested and thinking about it. However it would be harder for me to do it than it would be for him. The reason is that the 2 different geographic locations I would have to invest more than he would. My soil and his soil are different. The soil is what helps produce the food and fruit. Once the food starts to grow it has to also have room and natural things to grow. The food cannot grow if it’s not connected to what’s feeding it. No matter how big it gets if at all it gets disconnected it cannot grow.

HERE IT IS…

Your connection cannot cannot be just anywhere. You cannot just plant your self anywhere in this world. The soil you plant yourself in may not be the soil you need to be in. That soil may need some work and may not be ready to be planted in. When you find the soil that is rich, and has all the super natural things it needs you will then see the strength in your growth. You will continue to feed from the base and soil of the word and never disconnect from it. Even when it’s time for you to gi off on your own the soil you will be planted in will have the same factors and things you need as you had when you were growing. Check your soil…

Pulled me out

You brought me up from the grave, O Lord . You kept me from falling into the pit of death.

Psalms 30:3 NLT

When I should have been dead sleeping in my grave, the lord was able to reach down for me. When I wasnt doing right he still protected me. When I was feeling like I was going to lose my mind he kept my mind. He kept me from falling in the pit. How many of us knew what we were facing, and knew that we were doomed. Knew that it was over? Counted yourself out? I can testify that I have cried out to God and asked him to save me. I have cried out and wanted him to just let me go.

HERE IT IS…

The psalmist says that you brought me up from the grave, O Lord. Which implies that he was already there. Alot ot times we put ourselves in a dark place. We seem to almost commit ourselves to the grave before the preacher can. We sometimes allow the devil into our mind and he sends us to our grave using our own thoughts against us. So even though we may put ourselves there, God still will reach out and keep us from going. He will pull us out of our own demise. He will correct our thinking and guide our steps. He is a keeper, a protector, a provider.

Son shine

For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.

Psalms 30:5 NLT

Have you ever seen the sun rise? On a day like today being able to be in a place and position that you can sit and watch it go from dark to light. Watch the darkness seemingly chased away. As it slowly creeps in the horizon and starts to shine on things. The shadows are pushed back and what was unseen can now be seen. Watching how the things that may be wet start to dry from the heat of the son. Seeing just how it looks from the reflection on water. It’s amazing to see and experience. It is something that reminds me of just how good God is to us. Seeing the son rise. Oh what a day of rejoicing that would be.

HERE IT IS…

It’s always good to know that no matter what you are going through, whatever you may have happen, whatever may have come your way. The shadows will recede. The wet places from tears will dry. The things that you couldn’t see because of the dark places are now seen. The son shines on the things that needed to be given warmth. To feel the presence and peace of the son is what provides the uplifting experience. In the morning you’ll be alright, in the morning the sons going to shine, when there’s clouds in your life just wait for the son light.

Pass it on

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

2 Corinthians 1:3‭-‬4 NLT

When I have trouble in my life and I feel sad and worried and upset. When I need to talk, I have a small circle of people I know I can trust. I know I can talk to without judgement and know that I can receive some uplifting and comfort. Sometimes I can’t reach those small circle of friends. Sometimes I cant talk to them because they are busy, and sometimes they need the same thing they give to me. Oh how wonderful it is to have a place that I can go to to get comfort when I’m by myself. Someone that I can talk to when I’m unable to reach anyone. This wonderful place and someone is Jesus.

HERE IT IS…

The comfort that God gives us and the ability to help others when we feel down and out comes from him. God gives us all that we need, so that we can be used to help the ones that need to connect with him. We are used as a vessel to show other that it’s nothing that I have done, but Christ did it all. Paul says in his letter to the church what we should follow. 1. Give God praise. 2. Acknowledge Him for the God he is. 3. He is here to help you get through so that we can pass the same peace along to others. God is so loving that he wants to comfort us so that we can show others that, it’s not my family, my circle, my friends that keep me from losing my mind. Its Jesus.

Already purchased

It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us.

2 Corinthians 1:21‭-‬22 NLT

I like those info commercials about different products that they sell. I like watching them because it intrigues me the amount of time they spent developing, instructing, and filming this 1 commercial. Just the psychology behind it all to get you to want the product. To get you to remember the number. To get you to buy the product. But they top it off with a guaranteed money back offer. Or a guarantee that it will last and work. They have people that are dressed like you and me. A picture perfect background. They show you what they think every person might want in there life. Then tell you this, it can all be yours with 3 easy payments of $29.99. Then they say that shipping and handling is free just call now, before time runs out.

HERE IT IS…

Well this is what I love about God. He is not a info commercial. He is not trying to sell you anything. He is not giving you something to call in for. In fact he already paid for it. He already shipped it, and he has already placed it in you. God has given us the holy spirit to go along with us everyday ot our life. He gave us Jesus who died for our sins. But the great thing about God is that his promise and guarantee was in place before all of this world was created. He has been there at my beginning and yours. He has told us that we are his own. He has given us the love through his word. Plus, he has not left us or failed us. His love never fails. And never runs out. No shipping and handling required.

God provides

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Look, I’m going to rain down food from heaven for you. Each day the people can go out and pick up as much food as they need for that day. I will test them in this to see whether or not they will follow my instructions. On the sixth day they will gather food, and when they prepare it, there will be twice as much as usual.”
Exodus 16:4‭-‬5 NLT

Provide, sustain, take care of, words and phrases that mention of making sure that someone is not in need of anything. As parents we make sure that our kids are not in need of anything. We try to make sure that the ones that we love and care for are taken care of and provided for. We dont want them to have to find it anywhere else if we are in good health and can make it happen. Where does it come from to allow you to be that providing person. That person that makes sure that everyone is sustained and not in need. Moses and Aaron was spoken to by God and was told what was going to happen. It wasnt anything that they did. It was all God.
HERE IT IS…

I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord , who made heaven and earth! He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.
Psalms 121:1‭-‬3 NLT

God provides for us. God gives us the wherewithal and the ability to do what we do for our families. He gives the thoughts, mindset, and intuition to do what we do. Moses and Aaron did what God said and the Israelites where sustained for the time they were in the wilderness. Whatever you going through, He will provide. Whatever is happening in your life, he will sustain you. Whatever may be trying to pull your family apart, God will do just what he said he will do.

So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
