Trust in Him

“I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭130‬:‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There is a song that I love to hear and love to sing. It’s something from my childhood that I heard at least twice a month at my church back home. It says, “I will trust in the Lord
I will trust in the Lord.
I will trust in the Lord
Til I die…”
Those words will climb up in my spirit and will come out at the most random but instrumental time that I need.

HERE IT IS…

My question to you is this. What have you trusted God for and it seems that he has forgotten about it? What have you prayed about and told God I will trust you for it and you still are waiting? The best thing I could say is that God is a God that is patient and all knowing. I have grown to know that even the things that I may feel he has forgotten he has not forgotten. The things that I trust God for I know that he will provide and he will do. What we have to do is trust in him to do it. Another song says, “He may not come when you want him, but He’ll be there right on time. He’s an on time God, yes He is.”

Give

“But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In this season of Christmas we often times go right into gift shopping mode. I find it funny that we for so reason forget about the holiday we just celebrated about being thankful for what we have and go right into spending money for gifts for people. I know that we are thankful and we give gifts because we love the people we are buying for. Just think about how we lose sight of what we are doing for a moment.

HERE IT IS…

Take a moment and think about those who don’t have half as much as you do. Think about those who are less fortunate. Try giving to them and enhancing their life. While we are doing it we don’t need the whole world to know. We don’t have to put it on display. We don’t have to tell a whole bunch of people. Just do it for them. Without a thank you. Without a name of who gave it. Just give and watch how God blesses you in private and publicly. It will be worth it.

Blinded

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I was watching a gruesome video of a person who that they had gone blind in one eye. The doctor was performing surgery because they thought they saw something on the persons eye. Come to find out it was a contact lens that had hardened and forged itself to the persons eye. Which cause the lens to become cloudy and blind the person. In order for the person to see again the doctor had to remove the lens and cleanse the eye.

HERE IT IS…

Some of us are faithless because of our own vision has been destroyed because of what we think we have done. We lose sight of who God is because of who we think we are and become blind. Now I know you’re thinking it doesn’t make sense! Well think of it this way. If I can’t see God then what am I really looking at? If I am not depending on God then where is my faith in him.

“By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.”

Thankful

Oh give thanks unto the Lord for he is good AND his mercy endureth FOREVER!

It’s following you

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭23‬:‭6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I have wanted a dog for a few years since our dog snickers died a few years ago. For the past year and a half we have had a beautiful Rottweiler named Creed. Ever since we picked him up he has been following me around. If I left the house he followed me to the door and wanted to go wherever I went. If he couldn’t go he would try to force his way out. He would even sit outside my room door until I came out of my room. No matter where I was he would follow me.

HERE IT IS…

A dog may be man’s best friend, but God is our creator and has destined that goodness and mercy will follow us just like creed follows me. This is what I love about God and Creed. Is that even if I leave him and come back he is still there waiting for me to come back. No matter what I did or been through when I come back he is happy to see me and still loves on me the same way. And his goodness and his mercy will follow us for all the days of our lives. Come back because he is waiting and wants you to have what he has destined for you.

Follow the rules

“Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, And that seek him with the whole heart.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭119‬:‭2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

About 10-12 years ago I had a -5 driving record. I had to have a SR22 on my insurance. I had to pay and obscene amount of money to get my license reinstated just so I could drive a car that was sitting in my driveway. In order to get the SR22 off of my insurance I had to have no traffic violations whatsoever and get my points back into the positive. In other words I had to obey the law and pay my fines and then I could have my drivers licenses reinstated and be able to drive legally without a the insurance company taking more money.

HERE IT IS…

We will go through everything the judge tells us to do in order to have our privilege restored and pay all the money for the fines we have, but we cannot follow the word of God in order to receive the privilege of entering the gates of heaven. We will go before the judge to hear his verdict and obey his ruling, but we cannot follow the rulings of the ultimate judge who has the ability and authority to put us in heaven or hell. Follow his law and you will receive things you would have never thought you would have.

Preach

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16‬:‭15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Growing up one of the first scriptures I learned was John 3:16. As I learned I I was also studying the ways and mannerisms of my Pastor Rev. Clayborn Salter. As I watched and studied him I began to preach that one verse everywhere I went. School. The barber shop. The playground. Everywhere I went I spoke and recited this scripture and tried to preach like my Pastor. “SURELY” is what he would say as he got ready to close that he died.

HERE IT IS…

I am older now and have found my own way to preach even though I feel a SURELY come up when I preach every now and again. But no matter if it’s that scripture or one of the others that I know or have read the truth is his word will go forth no matter where I am. I know that his word has to go forth no matter who, what, where, when… Preach his word. Share his word with everyone who has ears to hear. You never know who is listening.

Pray for them

“Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭28‬ ‭NLT‬‬

If I can be real for a second, this can be flat out HARD. You mean I have to pray for those who want to see me fail? I have to pray for those who purposely tried to make me fall? It can be tough and it can be hard to do. We often times talk to God like he didn’t see what happen. Saying, “But you don’t know what they did to me.” “Did you see how they hurt me?” God wants you to pray for everyone that has done something against you.

HERE IT IS…

You don’t know how that person was hurt before they hurt you. The saying is true that, “hurt people, hurt people!” It is also true that eventually someone has to stop the cycle. Why not you? Why not end it before it goes too far? Why not be the start of the change? Why not be the one who shows compassion instead of retaliating? Why not be the head and not the tail. Above and not beneath. The lender of love and not the borrower of hate. The change has to start and because of who you you are in him, he is going to start it with you.

Patiently waiting

“Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.””
‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Is love conditional? The love that you have for a person is that because of what they do for you? The love that you give or receive, is that based upon something that is exchange for it? Love is given the label as a noun and a verb, which in context can be interpreted as an action because of or based off that person place of thing. Meaning, your love has been triggered and put into action because of.

HERE IT IS…

This scripture almost suggest that Gods love is conditional upon us loving Christ. When the truth is God and Christ loved us already even in our condition. Jesus died for us all to have the ability to come to him. Not based on if you loved him already. He loved us enough that even if we didn’t love him right now, we still have the opportunity to know him and love him and in doing so receiving the love of God that has already been waiting for us. Gods love is not conditional it’s patiently waiting for us to accept it.

You will see and understand

“All nations will come to your light; mighty kings will come to see your radiance.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭60‬:‭3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I was having a talk with my mom about 20+ years ago and to this day her words ring within my head. She said “You may not understand what I’m telling you right now, but one day you’re going see it and understand.” Words that I have had to hear replay in my head about certain things that I have been through in my life a few times. The crazy part is that it was two fold and I didn’t realize that until now. See (pun intended) I had to get to a place that I would not only SEE what she was talking about. I also had to be able to comprehend or understand the lesson as well.

HERE IT IS…

You may be living your best life now, but keep on living. You may be able to live freely and do what you want to do, but keep in living. Truth is that some day you will have come before God and you will see him for who he is and also understand that you have been kept, covered, upheld, delivered, released from things that was out to take you out. You will see how great God is but you will also comprehend just who he has been to you in your life.
