Faith in him

“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:5-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬
I can always tell when my kids want something by the way they’re voice inflection changes. I can always tell whether it’s something they want me to buy that they don’t need, or if it’s something they need in they’re voice. It’s funny to me how much emphasis they put on things when they come to ask. As if they are putting so much faith on me that I will get or do what they ask. “Please daddy” or dad please”.

HERE IT IS…

When you come to your father to ask him for something he can always tell if it is something that you need or something that you want. The great thing is that he tells us when we come to him to make sure that we are putting our faith in him only. Truth is if I can’t do it the kids know they can got to one of they’re Aunts or grandparents. How many of us have come to God asking him for something but have a plan in the back of our mind of how to do it anyway? Come with full faith and patience to allow God to move how he does. A lot of times we don’t wait and try to get what we want and make a mess of it. Come with faith only in him and he will supply all that could ever ask or imagine.

He has you

“He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:7-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬
If it wasn’t for his grace where would we be? If it had not been for his son who died for us where would we be? It’s hard to think about how different our lives would be if we did not have him on our side. It’s hard to think about where we would be if he had not prevented things from getting to us. If he can stop all those things from happening and protect you from those things why wouldn’t he keep you now?

HERE IT IS…

We are all covered and given things that will help us through our everyday life. One we are covered by his blood. We have been forgiven all because of his blood that was shed to us. Then he has given us more by showing us kindness. Then he allows us to have wisdom to make better decisions. God is there to make sure we have all that we need. God has you covered.

Personnel

“When they arrived at the house, Jesus wouldn’t let anyone go in with him except Peter, John, James, and the little girl’s father and mother. The house was filled with people weeping and wailing, but he said, “Stop the weeping! She isn’t dead; she’s only asleep.” But the crowd laughed at him because they all knew she had died. Then Jesus took her by the hand and said in a loud voice, “My child, get up!” And at that moment her life returned, and she immediately stood up! Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭8:51-55‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Jesus walks in and tells only essential personnel to stay. He ask them why are you crying she is not dead just sleeping. Wouldn’t you know it just as we do we laugh and don’t believe it because of what WE see with our eyes. Not realizing just how great Jesus vision is. Essential personnel is in the room and he goes to her and yells for her to get up. This is what I like, at that moment her life RETURNED to her.

HERE IT IS…

Don’t worry sometimes God has to stop you from having all those people in your life/room when something happens. He only needs essential personnel in the room. Just like today’s times my job I’m considered essential personnel. I may huff and puff because of how much I would want them to shut it down. My vision is not his vision. Whatever he is doing something good is going to come out when he says for us to get up and the life that he has meant for us returns to us and we live in the way he has for us. Take this tome to rest because soon he will tell us to get up. Time to be about the life you speak about because it’s coming.

He still comes by

“While he was still speaking to her, a messenger arrived from the home of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue. He told him, “Your daughter is dead. There’s no use troubling the Teacher now.” But when Jesus heard what had happened, he said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith, and she will be healed.” When they arrived at the house, Jesus wouldn’t let anyone go in with him except Peter, John, James, and the little girl’s father and mother.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭8:49-51‬ ‭NLT‬‬
How amazing is it that when you go to the one that can heal and deliver that something tragic happens? You go to see the one that can do anything and while your there what you cane to prevent happens anyway. Jairus came to Jesus to have him come to his house to heal his daughter and while he is there a messenger comes and says his daughter is dead. What do you do? Something prevents him from leaving at the moment that he could have had more time to get there to prevent it from happening.

HERE IT IS…

Just because it happens doesn’t mean that it’s over. In fact I believe Jesus allows things to happen so that your faith can be completely restored. Imagine God stopping everything that happen to you before it happened? Imagine that lost never happen. Imagine that heart break never happened. Imagine you never were broke and had to wait on him. We would think that we were invincible. We would think it’s something we did. We would think that we could go through anything and make it on our own. This is the time not to blame anyone but to celebrate the fact that he still comes by your house and heals. He still comes by and delivers. He still comes by no matter the circumstances and blesses you.

He touched me

“Then a man named Jairus, a leader of the local synagogue, came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with him to come home with him. His only daughter, who was about twelve years old, was dying. As Jesus went with him, he was surrounded by the crowds.

Coming up behind Jesus, she touched the fringe of his robe. Immediately, the bleeding stopped. “Who touched me?” Jesus asked. Everyone denied it, and Peter said, “Master, this whole crowd is pressing up against you.””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭8:41-42, 44-45‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Like I said before this story amazes me every time I read it. Do you have the confidence to believe that just by getting to Jesus you can be healed? Do you believe that when you get to him that he will change your whole (hole) life? These two people went to Jesus with the theory that they can receive just what they need. They didn’t come with time tables and Jesus didn’t give them one because it was instant. Sometimes God will do just that. God will expedite what you need to show the world just how amazing his love and power is through you.

HERE IT IS…

“He touched, oh, he touched me
And oh the joy that floods my soul!
Something happened, and now I know
He touched me, and made me whole.” These are the lyrics to the song he touched me. What will happen when he touches you? When his power advances from him to you. What will change when his healing hand touches your weak and hurting body. Get to Jesus and know that by his presence. By his name. By his love that there is nothing that can stop his love and healing.

If I can make it to Jesus

“On the other side of the lake the crowds welcomed Jesus, because they had been waiting for him. Then a man named Jairus, a leader of the local synagogue, came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with him to come home with him. His only daughter, who was about twelve years old, was dying. As Jesus went with him, he was surrounded by the crowds. A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding, and she could find no cure.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭8:40-43‬ ‭NLT‬‬
You ever had a decision about you hanging in the balance based on what WOULD or MIGHT happen with someone or something else? When your decisions are based upon what happens with something else? It’s hard to go through life with the basis of what would or might happen according to something else. Look at this story and you will see what I mean. What if the lady with the issue of blood hadn’t touched Jesus? What if Jairus never was able to get to Jesus. They both had the same thought.

HERE IT IS…

“If I could just get to Jesus…” That was they’re thought. If I could just get to Jesus I know that everything will be alright. We place decisions on the hook for things that are man made. Decisions that are man made and what’s best for the company. Or what’s best for the time. Or what’s best for the city and country. What happens if you give that control to God. If every decision you made was based on what God says? If every statement was based on what God says? If I could just get to Jesus! Just like today’s time we have to press our way through it all and get to Jesus. We have to press through the crowds. Through the corona. Through the pain. Through the heartache and get to Jesus m, because if I could get to Jesus he will heal everything in my life.

Starts with you

This story amazes me every time I read it. Because it not only shows that Jesus is able to do exactly what he said he would, but the audacity of a man who was high in the country to come to God and repent and ask for his help shows us a lot as to how we should come to God. This man who has a daughter who is about 12 is sick and dying. Here he comes to God with one request. HEALING!

HERE IT IS…

What’s your request? What’s your situation that you have tried everything and can’t figure it out and haven’t brought to God? It’s in this place where God shows us how he has been waiting on you to come to him. You have tried and tried and tried again. Seems like God passes you by when in actuality he was waiting on you to come to him. Jesus stands there and tells the man after he hears him out that he makes his way. It’s here where he has someone come to him to tell the man his daughter is healed. Sometimes the thing you need to be healed doesn’t depend on his presence there but your presence in front of God.

New you

“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭51:10-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬
How great is our God, to be able to create something brand new out of something that is not worth rebuilding. How great is our God to take someone like you and me and give them another chance and a better chance. How great is our God to allow us the opportunity to come into his presence and commune with him. God has been so good to us in all different ways.

HERE IT IS…

Create in me, keep me close, restore what I lost, and hold me up. How awesome of a God to do for us. To be able to create something new in you. Hold you close to him, restore all the things you lost, and still hold you up. There is nothing to fear. There is nothing to worry about. There is nothing to be concerned about. If he created something new in you and was able to change you in times like this why wouldn’t he protect you. Heal you. Keep you.

Good suffering

“In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. All power to him forever! Amen.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:10-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“I can’t wait till this is over” we all have said that one tome or another. In today’s time we definitely have said it in anticipation for this to be over. But I believe that oftentimes we get so focused on getting out of the situation that we miss what’s in the suffering for us. Rev. J how can anything come out of suffering? How can I receive anything good from going through a tough time? What will I see that will help me in a time of turmoil and problems?

HERE IT IS…

“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:3-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Know him

“Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:21-23‬ ‭NLT‬‬
You ever seen someone you haven’t seen in a long time and they start to go down memory lane? Asking you about different people? They bring up on person that you didn’t really know and you have to say, “I know of them, but I don’t know them”? I have had that multiple times and I will even think about it after me and the person has ended our conversation to try and remember who they were talking about.

HERE IT IS…

Do you know God, or know of him? Better yet, does God know you or just know of you? I don’t want to meet God and he says he knows me but has never really had to much interaction with me. We often times push people to get to know God in times like this in fear. This is a time that we should encourage having a relationship with God not out of fear of what will happen, but out of fear of what will happen when you actually meet him. Don’t just know of God, but know who he is and have a relationship with him.
