Elected

“Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;”

Colossians 3:12 KJV

Last 3 elections for President of The United States have pivotal and problematic. These elections we all had to do our part to vote for who we thought was the greatest selection from the candidates that we had to choose from. They were all out campaigning and trying to gain the most votes to be selected to one of the most powerful positions here on this earth. Even when the election didn’t go the way we wanted we still had to trust that it would be done and held in high esteem.

HERE IT IS…

While the election here on earth went through we must not forget that the power we trust in is not of this world. Not only that but we to have been elected to a high office. Truth is God elected you to do something amazing in this world. While the election here took millions of people. The election you were in only took one to select you. God had you on his ballot. God checked his box next to your name. God placed his ballot in his hand and closed it. You have been elected to be a child of God. In your election you have been sworn in as a keeper of his word. A carrier for his work. A pupil of his wisdom. You have been elected to this office. Now it’s your time to change the world.

Just walk and be quiet

“Then Jesus said to him, “Don’t tell anyone about this. Instead, go to the priest and let him examine you. Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy. This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭8:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As I was reading Matthew 8 I was noticing just how much Jesus did for his people when he came down from the mountain in prayer. I noticed how Jesus was helping the people by healing the sick and curing illnesses but never once complained. I also looked at how Jesus healed a man of lepersy and after he told him not to tell anyone but to just go and let the people see how he had been healed. Not to to keep it a secret but to just let them see his healing.

HERE IT IS…

Sometimes we get so caught up in the things that God did that we miss the message in our healing. I understand you were blessed and healed and given the things we asked for but sometimes God places a message in your healing that he doesn’t need you to say a word. God places a message in your blessing that needs no words but it’s in the actual act of his blessing. We will mess up the message for other people when we open our mouth and try to explain it when all he needs you to do is walk in it. His message and healing and blessing is in his act of love so that other people will see where he has brought you from so that they will know he can do it for them as well. Let your walk be the message not your mouth cause you might just mess it up.

Frequency

“Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand!”

Matthew 11:15 NLT

This morning I was listening to the radio. As I was driving the radio started to produce the sound of static. I could still hear the song that I was listening to, but it was becoming more and more faint. As I kept driving the song started to change and it was a blend of three sounds. The static. The first station I was listening to and the one trying to come in. The reason that happen is because my geographic location I was getting to far away from the station I was listening to range. I started to enter into the range of a different station. Then something happen when I stopped at a light. The static was there but as I inches closer the station I wanted came in.

HERE IT IS…

In your travels through life it may feel like you have so much going on. You will have a lot of people in your ear. You will hear a lot of different things. Sometimes where you go it may feel like that you have gotten out of the range of God. What I understand is that if you stop and move a little slower you will get to a place where you can hear his voice better. The noise will stop and you will be able to focus on His voice. Truth is you will never be out of range of His voice you just have to get on his frequency so that you can hear him clearer. Listen to his voice.

Gods got it

Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. ”
Luke 6:38 NLT
I have often times felt that I was not given my just due about things. At times I have felt that I should have been shown more or even given more for the works that was produced. There is a song that I love to sing and had helped me in so many ways through this time which is, “let the works that I’ve done speak for me.”. This song has given me the ability to push on even when I felt unappreciated. Just as the scripture says in the later portion, “the amount you give will determine the amount you get back.

HERE IT IS…

What have you gave? What have you poured out? What have you sacrificed to receive what you think you deserve? Scripture also says this;
“For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.”
Psalms 75:6‭-‬7 KJV
Stop worrying about doing things for accolades, and do them for God. We often times, (whether consciously unconsciously), think about the things we could receive for what we do instead of who its for. Just like I made a effort to make sure that I was doing things for the right reason, we all need to do the same. Just as it says, that when we do give it will be given en back to us, and the blessings that God will give back we wont have room to receive.

Journey

“The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭121:7-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I love driving and taking road trips. For me I believe that our journey has been to direct. What do I mean? Nobody gets lost anymore. Some may say that getting lost is not good. Some say that getting lost is what causes trouble. I can Turkey agree in that respect. However, it also depends on what your getting lost in. We tend to get lost in our job, our kids lives, our money and other things. When is the last time you were lost in God? When was the last time you were lost in his word. Truth your lost is not the same as His. When you get lost in God the journey is not as hard as it looked.

HERE IT IS…

It’s not what you have to do that is making it hard to get to where you want but it’s the journey that we take. We are not perfect at all but if we would listen to his word it wouldn’t have taken us as long as it did. It’s not what you have to do when you get there but it’s our disobedience that causes us to take so long. But the great thing about God is that he is forever faithful and loyal. And even though you go the wrong way he redirects you to get you to where YOU are suppose to be.

Prayer

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”

Philippians 4:6 NLT

This is a common phrase I see and hear alot, “I will Pray for you”. As i much as I love to hear it and it warms me that people are able to pray for folks so freely this comes to mind. What are you praying for, and is it genuine? Lets be real here for a sec. I see all these post about how people urk others, they get on they nerves, they sick of this and that, but then at the end say “i will pray for you”. How? When you are prying for someone you should not be praying with the intent to retaliate at someone or to get back at someone. The purpose of prayer is to go before God and RELEASE it to him, and to have him to step in, in his way, not yours. The bible teaches us that if we have a issue with our brother to go to him and resolve it first Matthew 18. Praying for strength to deal with it, I get that, but to pray for them with a ill thought or ill feelings towards them, be careful because your prayer may just come back to you in a confrontation to get it resolved first.

HERE IT IS…

Be careful what and who you say you will pray for because you may have some issues inside that bother you that will send your prayer back to you in a manner that requires you to complete the removal of the issue before your prayer for, or about that person/situation will be considered.

Psalms 139:23-24 Search me, God, and know my heart;test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

NFL

This I declare about the Lord : He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.
Psalms 91:2 NLT

Football is my favorite sport. I love all sports and one of my favorite times in sports is the Olympics. You can see sports you never thought existed. However football has my heart as a fan, and a player. One of the topics for the past few years has been about when kids come out of college and declare for the draft. They were discussing allowing kids to play one year, and 2 years in college then declare for the draft. Then the discussion came up about them coming straight out of high school. Once they declare for the NFL draft their are certain things they can and cannot do if they decide not to go unto the draft or not.

HERE IT IS…

The writer in this 91st Psalms states a declaration about God. Their are certain things that he wants to openly and clearly state about who God is to him. He declares somethings about who God is to him. Have you declared for the NFL? Never Failing Lord. We can say that we love the Lord, and the he is the head of our life, have you declared God to be all these things over our life. The writer declared that God is a safe place, his refuge but listen to what he says. He said, “I trust him”. Did you get that? Trust is one thing we struggle with. The writer says I trust him. That means in everything we do we have to submit to him. Declare is a action word, which means you cant just say it, but do it. I’m declaring for the NFL, how about you?

Practice

“Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.”

Philippians 4:9 NLT

I never had a choice in whether to go to baseball practice when I was coming up. I had to have a legit sickness to go to practice. Especially when Coach Berry was the coach. I was at every practice and had to practice hard. If we didn’t we had to run laps around the park we practice at. Not around the baseball field but around the whole park. The funny thing is that if we took our time he would yell from the baseball field “y’all not moving fast enough. Y’all going to run another lap. “ when we go back we had to go back to our position and be ready. In all that I thought he was being hard on us. Through all that I thought he was being mean. When game time came we were one of the fastest teams in the park and loved to steal bases.

HERE IT IS…

Just because you don’t see the benefit of what God is doing now does not mean there is no benefit to it. The things you may being going through may not be needed until years later. Or the things you learned as a child won’t help you until now. The truth is you have to put into practice what you have learned. Take note of the lesson because sooner or later you will have to pull on it. Even if the thing your going through you fail at it now or you did then. You have learned not what to do and what to do in the same lesson. Practice what you have learned and it will work out in your favor.

He got you

“The Roman officer and the other soldiers at the crucifixion were terrified by the earthquake and all that had happened. They said, “This man truly was the Son of God!””

Matthew 27:54 NLT

Do you know what you have in you and on you? Have you realized that certain things happen when someone comes at you the wrong way? When people try to come against you the heavens are troubled the angels are put on high alert. The world is shaken because of whose you are and what God has placed in you. It can be hard not to retaliate because of the way people hurt you. It can be hard not to say something and not to go back and do the same thing that people did to you. Some times it feels like heaven takes a long to to do what you feel you could have done in an instant.

HERE IT IS…

A few verses back in this same chapter of Matthew, the mocked Jesus. They spit on Jesus. They tore his clothes. They said if he is the son of God then he can save himself. If Jesus had came down where would you be? The things that we feel we could do better only makes things worse. You have to realize just what happens when your enemies come against you. The earth knows it and even though it doesn’t happen right away, God handles it for you. Because in the end if we move like Jesus we will come out of the same place they tried to bury you and they won’t even see it happen. Your life will be resurrected. Your home will be resurrected. Your marriage will be resurrected. Your job will be resurrected. God will take care of you and your enemies. Just let him work.

Check yourself

I used to have a 91 Toyota Camry stick shift and I loved it. It had all I needed plus it was around the time fast and the furious came out and I wanted to try and make my car sound and look like one of those cars. I bought stuff and put a sound system in it and rims and was planning to put a paint job on it. It had lights anywhere I could put them and not get a ticket for it. The big muffler and all I mean I thought I was the stuff. But I had one problem, I had a oil leak. A oil leak where in the morning I had to check the oil level and before I left work I had to check it. I had to carry around oil in my car with me because if I didn’t my engine could have locked up on me all because I had everything looking and sounding good but the main thing that kept my car going was in danger.

HERE IT IS…

In the midst of having the latest and greatest and having all the stuff people compliment you on what is your relationship and faith status. It all looks good but the take a look under your spiritual hood and see if you have a leak some where. See if your love for stuff and money supersedes your love for a relationship with God. Just because you look and sound good doesn’t mean that you could possibly be on your way to locking up what God has in store for you because of your selfishness. Check your oil.
